If you have had a passport and it expires soon, or has expired in the past five years, you may be able to renew your passport by mail. To check to see if you are eligible to renew by mail, please check the State Department’s website here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/renew-by-mail.html

If you are eligible for renewal, we cannot process your renewal application here. However, if you would like to bring your renewal form to the library so we can review it with you before you mail it in, we are happy to provide that service.

NOTICE: The U.S. State Department has resumed processing times for passports. Mail delays have extended the length of time it will take for your receive your passport. It could take as long as three weeks for your application to arrive at the passport office and as long as three weeks for your passport to arrive at your address after being mailed by the passport office.

• Expedited passports will arrive in 2-3 weeks (Additional $60 fee per passport)
• Routine passports will arrive in 4-6 weeks

Each individual passport application must be accompanied by a check or money order made payable to U.S. Department of State for all applicable fees.

ADULT (AGE 16 AND OLDER) FEES:

• Passport book — $130
• Passport card — $30
• Passport book and card — $160
• Expedite fee (optional) — $60
• Optional 1-2 day return delivery service fee, available only for passport book — $21.36

MINOR (AGE 15 AND YOUNGER) FEES:

• Passport book — $100
• Passport card — $15
• Passport book and card — $115
• Expedite fee (optional) — $60
• Optional 1-2 day return delivery service fee, available only for passport book — $21.36

A separate execution fee of $35 per passport application is payable to the Derby Public Library and may be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card.
