What is Library2Go?
Library2Go is a delivery program for library patrons who are homebound.
Library2Go is a Derby Public Library and Derby Rotary Club program that delivers library materials to our patrons who are not able to get to the library because of physical or medical limitations.
Who is eligible to receive this service?
This service is available to any library patron who lives in the Derby school district (USD 260) and is homebound. This includes those who may be temporarily homebound due to illness or other conditions.
Are there costs associated with this service?
No, the program is provided free of charge.
How do I get the items I want from the library?
Once you are signed up, we will issue a blue Library2Go bag to you. Members of the Derby Rotary Club will deliver your items to your residence on Friday afternoon every four weeks. At the end of each four-week period, the Rotary member will bring a new bag of materials to you and pick up the items that you are returning.
How does the library know what items to send in my bag?
When you sign up for the service, we will ask you to answer some questions about your interests, including what genres of books you prefer to read. You can also specify if you would like to receive DVDs, audiobooks on CD or Playaway, and large or regular print books. We will choose items that match the categories you are interested in and send them to you. If, at any time, you would like to request a specific book or author, you may call the library and have it sent to you with the next delivery at which it is available.
Do I need a library card?
Yes. If you don’t currently have a card, we will help you get one.
