Derby Public Library > Kids & Teens > Teens
Derby Public Library has a vibrant and lively dedicated Teen Scene, which is a great place to hang out after school and on weekends. The area features computers for public use, plenty of comfortable seating, a television equipped with Wii and XBox video consoles, and more.
Join us in the Community Room at the library 4-5 p.m. on Tuesdays for Teen Tuesdays. We’ll have an activity, share a snack and talk about new young adult books. Everyone in grades 6-12 is welcome. We’ve had dance parties, indoor campouts, decorated doughnuts and more! It’s a fun way to make new friends and spend an hour after school.
The Teen Advisory Board, TAB for short, is a group of teenagers who want to make the Derby Public Library a better place for teens. Tell us what’s happening in your world. What’s the hottest book, movie or music right now? What programs does the library need? TAB meets once a month to plan library events such as the teen summer reading program, Teen Zine productions, and the programs for the upcoming session, as well as just having fun with other library-loving teens.
